In order to keep with the superstition rules, the artistes at the ceremony were instructed not to wear black and most of them appeared in some very pretty colours with Joyce Tang and Myolie Wu the most outstanding of the ladies. As the weather was quite warm, many of the male stars such as Gallen Lo and Patrick Tam were laughed at for wearing winter clothes and Julian Cheung in his big winter coat said awkwardly: "It doesn't matter if I feel hot because it is the thought, but I do feel like I am getting heat stroke!"
